The Common Health Conditions qualification is ideal if you are an experienced health care worker or new to the industry, caring for clients or patients in a work environment.

This course is an RQF qualification, and has now replaced the old QCF qualification.

Description

The aims of this programme are to enable to learner to understand the importance of monitoring the health of individuals which are affected by these specific health conditions. It also improves the learner’s knowledge and understanding of a range of health conditions of which their patients or clients may be experiencing.

The learner will gain an understanding of monitoring individuals in their care, what observations should be carried out on these individuals and gain an understanding of how to record and report the findings of those observations.

The learning programme is designed as a knowledge-based qualification in common health conditions. It enables the learner to improve their range of knowledge in certain health conditions. It also assists with the underpinning knowledge that is required by learners to function more effectively in a health and social care environment. A wider range of needs by the clients or patients are required to be supported and this programme will assist you with the specific knowledge needed.

Unit 1: Understand how to contribute to monitoring the health of individuals affected by health conditions (2 credits)
Unit 2: Introductory awareness of sensory loss (2 credits)
Unit 3: Stroke awareness (3 credits)
Unit 4: Arthritis awareness (3 credits)
Unit 5: Dementia awareness (2 credits)
Unit 6: Parkinson’s disease awareness (3 credits)

To be awarded the NCFE CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Common Health Conditions, learners are required to successfully complete all six units.
